As a result, spouse sponsorship applications are given first priority. To sponsor your spouse in Canada, you must be 18 years old.
You must be present in Canada during and after the Canada spouse visa determination if you have a Canada PR and wish to represent your partner in Canada.
Other than handicap, the sponsor should not be receiving social assistance.
You must have sufficient financial resources to sponsor a Canada Spouse visa.
The sponsor must agree to financially support your spouse for a period of time. This time is referred to as "promise an undertaking," and the duration is referred to as "length of the undertaking." Please keep in mind that a Canadian spouse visa requires three years of support and commitment.
You must show that you and your spouse have a genuine and enduring relationship.
You as well as your partner must be espoused lawfully. Please be aware that proxy weddings performed outside of Canada are no longer accepted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Have been admitted to Canada but have not had their immigration status reviewed by CIC
Have an existing sponsorship agreement that is still in effect at the time of filing a new sponsorship application with CIC
